Try these delicate bite size dessert snacks, by simply baking the butter-tart
filling right in the "Siijans" cups.
Honey-Butter Tart Filling:
Cup Brown Sugar
Cup Corn Syrup
Cup Liquid Honey
Eggs, lightly beaten
Cup Chopped Nuts (optional)
Packages Siljans Mini Croustades
sugar, syrup and honey in a 3 cup micro-safe glass bowl. Microwave on
HIGH until the mixture comes to a full boil and then simmer for 5 minutes.
in Butter, vanilla and vinegar. Set aside to cool.

Place Siljans Mini Croustades on a cookie sheet. Spoon
the filling into shells, about 1/2 full. Bake at 350°'F (1 80°C)
- for 10 minutes. Watch for burnt edges. Let
cool. These mini-tarts holds well for many days, and may even be frozen.
Thaw them in a regular oven.

Spice with Ginger, spoon into Croustades and sprinkle with toasted Almonds
hot mashed Potatoes with shredded Cheese, grated Onion and spices of your
choice. Fill Croustades, garnish with Green Onion and serve while still
ice-cream with a small melon-baller into Croustades, sprinkle with crushed
Egg-salad mixed with pieces of Salami into Shells. Garnish with colourful
veggies in season e.g. Asparagus and sprinkle with red Paprika and Chives.
Pipe Chocolate Mousse into the Croustade. Top
with a Cherry or another seasonal berry.
Blue Cheese with softened Cream Cheese. Spoon or pipe into the Cups. Garnish
with half a Grape.
our friends in the Caribbean:
Fill half the Croustade with Cream Cheese. Top with Crabmeat and sprinkle
with Caribbean Hot Sauce.
for the Three Amigos:
favourite from the Pacific North West:
Fill Croustade with heated Refried Beans. Garnish with a slice of
fresh colourful hot Pepper and maybe some Sauce Picante. Serve while still
Mix smoked Salmon, Mayonnaise and Mustard. Fill Cups and decorate with
Lemon grind and fresh Dill.
touch of Greece:
Croustade with Lettuce. Add pieces of Feta Cheese. Top with slices of
Black Olives, Artichoke pieces and a dash of Basil.
real "Western" grub ...
Make a mix from Ground Beef and Sloppy Joe Sauce. Spoon hot into Siljans
Croustades and serve immediately. Yahoo!
Whipping Cream until soft peaks form, add Icing Sugar and Maple flavouring.
Fill Croustades and drizzle very lightly with some real Maple Syrup. Top
with a piece of Walnut.
